First Impression


Its said that you only get one First Impression. Therefore, be sure to make it a positive and lasting one. The person/s you encounter literally makes a mental image and assessment of you. Studies have shown that one of the most important factors in First Impressions is trust. Take control of your First Impressions. This opinion of you hardly ever changes. A First Impression usually sets the tone the relationship that follows. 

There are many little areas that contribute to a First Impression. The top 5 areas to master the art of your First Impressions are as follows:

Be on time
  • Relax
Dress Appropriately
  • good hygine
  • no loud colone/purfume
  • nothing too revealing or inappropreate
Display Proper posture and Positive Body Language
  • stand tall
  • dont fidget 
  • make eye contact
  • greet with a firm hand shake
Be Confident and Pleasant
  • smile
  • be yourself
  • don't brag
  • have appropreate positve conversations
Be Interesting and Interested
  • pay attenion
  • have a sense of humor
  • give compliments
  • end on a positive note

  3. I find the last part to be especially true... "be interesting and interested" because it makes the person want to know more about you and your interest makes them feel comfortable in a conversation/ interview.
